THE PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW, MAY 1 - MAY 19

The Photography Show

Showcasing the works of Toronto photographers:

Jim Lambie, Brian Boyle, Nicola Woods, Moy Nahon, Michelle Ward, Benjamin Rondel,
John Alexander, Melanie Tinken, Matthew Fung, and Robin Woods.

Curated by Nicola Woods.

Nicola Woods is a visual artist working primarily in photography.

She was born in Sheffield U.K., received a BFA from the University of Manitoba, and a MFA
from Johnson State College in Vermont.  Nicola has participated in various solo and
group exhibitions
in Canada and the U.S.A.  Recently, her work was part of the Scotiabank CONTACT
Photography Festival in 2012 and in 2011 her work was included in the "Head of Orpheus"
issue of POIESSIS:  The Journal of Arts and Communication.

Nicola creates illuminated photographs that depict the body as a mysterious vessel; one that
contains and leaks; is solid and porous; and is composed of visible and invisible matter.
She is currently investigating the connections between trees, the human body and the pineal
gland for a new body of work.

May 1- May 19
Reception Saturday May 4, 2-7pm.

OUR FIRST YEAR!

Thanks kindly to those who made it out to the gallery yesterday to celebrate our first year.
I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the members- a year ago, we were for the most part, strangers!
It is because of your trust and faith that GAS has evolved into this dynamic and wonderful place, so rich and full of possibilities, exceeding my own vision of what could be.
Thank you for believing. It is an honour to have you on board.

Thanks kindly to members Louis Doranksy and Jyne Greenley for snapping shots of the reception.
Enjoy!!

Yours, truly,
Joanne Filletti
