MATT WOOD: Multi-Ply- new paintings on plywood

Matt Wood’s abstract paintings hum along the surface as much as they carve deeply into a space beyond. Using oil and/or acrylic, the medium is applied and sometimes removed with spatulas to reveal another strata, shape or space. Standing in the presence of one of Matt’s paintings, it is easy to lose oneself in his brilliantly colourful and vibrant universe.
Matt has been a member of Gerrard Art Space since 2013. This is his second solo show with GAS.
